Welcome
Westchester Country Day believes that one of the strongest ingredients that accounts for the success of our students is parent support of the school’s efforts. We feel that educating children is a shared enterprise between school and home. To maximize that critical relationship, the school offers the following guidelines. If all of our parents understand the expectations that the school has for them, we feel that our students are the ultimate winners.
Westchester parents...
- support the mission of the school: they help us achieve moral, academic, artistic, and athletic excellence in our students. They understand the importance of our Honor System and our emphasis on instilling positive moral values in their children.
- communicate with the school, thereby alerting us to special situations that need our attention.
- share concerns and praise with our teachers and coaches.
- support school events (games, plays, concerts, our annual auction, etc.) with their enthusiastic presence.
- serve as trustees, when asked and the timing is appropriate.
- support WAPA, the Westchester All Parents' Association.
- meet school-imposed deadlines.
- try to schedule vacations and doctor/dental appointments at times that do not conflict with classes.
- contribute to the Annual Fund and capital campaigns that help
the school's facilities improve.
