Middle School Students Qualify for the Duke TIP Program
HIGH POINT, N.C., September 21, 2007 -- 30 Westchester 7th graders (out of a class of 50) qualified for the Duke TIP program as a result of their ERB CTP 4 testing scores in 2006-2007. These individual students scored at 95 percentile or above on at least one section of the test, verbal or math. Westchester uses the ERB CTP 4 tests to assess the progress of students in grades 1-10 relative to other independent school students across the country. Developed for ERB by Educational Testing Service to serve the needs of high achieving students and schools that aspire to higher standards, CTP 4 is a rigorous test battery designed to collect basic information about student achievement. When used in conjunction with comprehensive and accessible score reporting systems, data are organized to answer the important questions of teachers, administrators, and parents about student performance in key areas of school achievement. The students are Cooper Blazek, Kylie Boyle, Claire Councill, Alex Dean, Raleigh Durham, Elizabeth Folk, Avery Goho, Olivia Greeson, Sebastian Hertl, Ruben Hwasser, Christian James, Alexis King, Josh Kirkman, Lizzy Lawrence, Katie Myers, James Park, Emily Smith ,Mary Bryan Smith, Emma Thomas, Will Thomas, Kennedy Thompson, Leigh Tyson, Kimberly Watson, Cam Weis, and Patrick Williford.
