Welcome to Wildcat Summer 2009! We have changed things around a bit this year so look carefully at all the camp times, dates and descriptions. We have added several afternoon camps so students may attend for a full day some weeks. We have also added three full-day "Fun Fridays" so be sure to check those out. The Stage is the Thing

Bedazzle your friends...American Girl style! Whether you are a novice to drama and performing or you just want to have a good time and sharpen your skills - this is a great camp for you! Campers will have fun with drama and improvisation, learn stage skills and drama lingo, share pointers to help with auditions and performing, and even experience some musical theater. We will focus on the American Girl play called Hairum Scarum, and we will end the week with a presentation for family and friends.

Fairies and Princesses

Mrs. Albert and Mrs. Baer are all a "flutter" with the announcement of our third annual Princess Camp! Join us as we spend the week in the Enchanted Forest with your favorite princess friends, making fairy wings and decorating our fairy dust boxes. We'll also spend time with our favorite princesses at tea time each day, enjoying posh princess fairy snacks such as Unicorn Horns and Lady Bugs, before every fairy princess stops by the Fairy Boutique to get all glittered up for her flight about town! We're so excited, we must admit, for this fun week of glitter and glitz!

Chess Camp

Are you a Grandmaster? Come prove it against all of Westchester's best chess players! Come learn the rules of chess, get your own copy of Chess software, and learn strategies that will get you to Grandmaster status. Mr. Barrier is waiting for you to take him down!

Art Camp

SAT Verbal Review

You have heard the saying that practice makes perfect. You may not realize it but practice will help you improve your SAT scores as well. Perhaps you may not make a 1600 on verbal, but with a little effort you can raise those scores significantly. Learn how to take the tests, how to use the context clues and how to write the essay. SAT Verbal Prep will sharpen your reading skills, break down the essay portion, and enhance vocabulary. Give yourself the gift of practice.

SAT Math Review

Pirates, Knights, and Heroes

Ahoy Mateys! Join Mrs. Albert and Mrs. Baer during an adventurous week as pirates, knights, and other heroes take over Westchester! Our Long John Silvers and Sir Lancelots will alternate days making pirate crafts, such as a flag for the ship and a telescope to use when announcing, "Land Ho!" and practicing the code of medieval chivalry as we decorate shields and sit at the Round Table with King Arthur. Daily heroic snacks, such as Dragon Nails and Fish Bait, will be served with Pirate Punch out of the Knight's Goblet. This is sure to be a week full of fantastical, magical, adventurous, and heroic fun!

School House Rock Live! Jr.

Barb Stinson and Debby Noyes will run an all-day camp the week of July 13-17. The purpose of the camp is to produce the show School House Rock Live! Jr. Participants will make their costumes, build the set, and perform the play on the evening of the 17th.

Cooking Camp

Come join us in the WCDS kitchen for an adventure-filled week and learn how to make fun snacks, your own breakfast creations, yummy after-school treats, simple family meals you can share, and desserts to satisfy the biggest sweet tooth. We will learn some basic kitchen skills, have fun, and explore foods from some foreign lands.

Design Your Dream Room

Calling all interior designers! Are you ready for some new accessories in your bedroom? Are you ready to express your creative style in your room? Wildcats, Wiggles, and Watermelons

Fantasy Football Camp

Wildcat Boys' and Girls' Basketball Camp

Calling all spikers! Pass, set, spike, and dig your way to an increased level while playing in competitive situations. Prepare for the upcoming season with All-Conference players from both the Varsity and Middle School teams. Wildcat Soccer Camp

Come join the North Carolina Region's Coach of the Year Adam Schwartz and his All-Star staff for one of the most popular soccer camps in the state! All age groups will develop and learn the technical skills of the world's most popular sport, while gaining a true passion for soccer. Shooting, dribbling, passing, heading, receiving, attacking, and defending are only a few of the skills these World Cup stars will bring home after a great day "shaking the net!" This camp is designed for rising stars of all ages and abilities!
