Overview

Focus on Excellence

Since 1967, Westchester Country Day School has offered a challenging curriculum in an environment where supportive and caring faculty are focused on excellence and helping each child strive to reach his or her potential. Our teachers are more than instructors; they are role models whose love of learning is contagious and evident in all they do. This love of learning pervades the campus, and all students are given tools for achieving their own academic, artistic, athletic, and personal successes. Students learn to think for themselves, not merely memorizing facts and statistics, but also realizing their potential as they develop skills and habits that will lead to future success. Our students go out into the world prepared with the knowledge, ability, and perseverance to meet life's challenges head-on.

"The Westchester experience is truly a catalyst through which tomorrow’s leaders are born."
- Westchester alum, Class of 1998

Organized in three distinct divisions, the Lower School (PK-5) enrolls students in a traditional elementary program that utilizes a variety of experiential learning activities. The Middle School (6-8) includes a departmental program with a wide variety of enrichment programs. The Upper School (9-12) offers 15 Advanced Placement classes with 100% of the students attending college. There are strong music, arts, and athletics programs through all three divisions, as well as a club program in both the Middle and Upper school, which includes an admissions Ambassador/Blue Key Club and a drama program.
