Every family is expected to contribute to the cost of tuition and fees, thereby supporting the community to the extent family circumstances permit. In order to assess what a family can afford for educational costs, Westchester uses TADS (Tuition Aid Data Services) as an objective and independent third party. TADS calculations are the baseline for our indexed tuition determinations, but we also take into consideration our school's policies and the resources available for both returning and prospective families.

In order to find the appropriate tuition amount, we must assess the financial strength of each family. To do this, many factors are considered: income (both taxable and nontaxable), assets, number of dependents, and number of children attending schools that charge tuition. We also consider a number of variables when making decisions including but not limited to: medical expenses, earning potential for spouse not employed outside the home, consumer debt, automobiles (fair market and/or leased value), recreational vehicles, second homes, vacation expenses, and family enrichment activities.

Notification of tuition decisions will be made by early March. After March, decisions will be made on a rolling basis. Although decisions about admission and indexed tuition are made at the same time, the two processes are separate. All financial information families provide us will be held in strict confidence and will NOT be shared with anyone outside of the Indexed Tuition Committee.
