Tuition & Fees

Choosing an independent school is an investment. We greatly appreciate our families for entrusting us with their children’s education. Westchester Country Day School is not state or federally funded. Every family is expected to contribute to the cost of tuition and fees in collective support of our school community.

Westchester considers it a vital part of our mission to make our college preparatory program available to talented and ambitious students with a wide range of financial circumstances. This is why Westchester offers indexed tuition for grades K-12, customized according to a family’s ability to contribute toward educational expenses. 

Tuition Ranges for 2024-25

*Full tuition and fees are expected for Pre-Kindergarten, which is not included in indexed tuition.

Indexed Tuition

Many factors are taken into consideration in determining the amount a family can afford, including income (taxable and nontaxable), assets, number of dependents, and number of children attending schools that charge tuition. Medical expenses, earning potential for spouse not employed outside the home, consumer debt, automobiles (fair market and/or leased value), recreational vehicles, second homes, vacation expenses, and family enrichment activities are also considered. 

Westchester uses an objective, third-party service called School & Student Services to collect this information and calculate baseline indexed tuition determinations. We also take into consideration our school’s policies and the resources available for returning and prospective families.

Tuition decision notifications are made late March/early April. After the first round of decisions, indexed tuition will be made on a rolling basis. Although decisions about admission and indexed tuition are made at the same time, the two processes are separate. All provided financial information is held in strict confidence and is not shared with anyone outside of the Indexed Tuition Committee.

Required Fees

Application Fee

A non-refundable $75 fee must accompany each application for admission.

Student Activity Fee

The fee includes books, class trips, Chromebook rental for grades 5-12, classroom supplies, lunch, Advanced Placement (AP) classes and exams, graduation, one yearbook per student, Early Withdrawal Policy, and other miscellaneous items and consumables. The fee will be assessed at the beginning of the school year.

Tuition Deposit

A tuition deposit is due at the time of enrollment/re-enrollment. This deposit is applied toward tuition.

Optional Fees

Westchester makes the following offerings available for the convenience and support of our families. Additional fees apply as these are not included in the overall tuition and student activity fee for all students.
