Sights and Sounds of the Season
As we wrap up the first stretch of the school year, we are proud of the work our students have been creating this fall.
The WCDS Arts departments have involved all grades in artwork and music relating to this holiday time and the upcoming winter season. We hope you and your family enjoy viewing a selection of their work as you spend the holiday break together over the next couple weeks.
Our students have been excited to sing at school again this fall, and they enjoyed being on the stage once again to record the songs featured below. They are especially looking forward to parents returning for a schoolwide celebration of the arts with outdoor concerts during ArtsFest this spring (Thursday, April 21, 2022).
You can view all of the music videos and photos of artwork below on the WCDS YouTube channel and Flickr account.

Upper School Concert Choir and Contemporary Band, "No Idea"
For the "Carol of the Bells" video, the students each learned and sang multiple parts. Their vocal recordings were then layered together for the video.
Middle School Art
The artwork below was created by sixth and eighth grade art students learning new glass fusing techniques. Their bright designs were made possible by new equipment purchased through a Friends of the Fine Arts grant this fall.
Lower School Music and Art
The artwork below was created by pre-K (snowmen), kindergarten (poinsettias), first grade (candy cane prints) and second grade (polar bears and Northern Lights).
