WCDS Welcomes Two New Faculty Members

Westchester is pleased to welcome the following new faculty members:
Rose Moore, Lower School Academic Support Teacher | |

Rose Moore joined WCDS as a Lower School academic support teacher and Alternative Learning Plan coordinator. She has 33 years of teaching experience, most recently teaching preschool for students with special needs in Davidson County Schools, and she served as the Exceptional Children's Department Chair for her school. She has a Bachelor of Science from UNC-Greensboro in K-12 Deaf Education and National Board Certification as an Exceptional Needs Specialist. |
Dr. Ying-Sin Chen, Middle/Upper School Mandarin Teacher | |

Dr. Ying-Sin Chen joins WCDS on Monday as a Middle School and Upper School Mandarin teacher. She also will teach Middle School electives. Dr. Chen has developed language instruction for children through adult learners since 2011, including teaching at the college level. Most recently, she has provided online language instruction and coaching to U.S. military and government services employees through the Special Operations Forces Teletraining System and to students enrolled in language courses through North Carolina Virtual Public School. Dr. Chen earned her Ph.D. in Literacy, Culture, and Language Education from Indiana University, Bloomington. She also has a Master of Science in Education from University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language and Applied Linguistics from National Taipei University in Taiwan. |
