The win came on Sept. 7 in a home game against Westminster Catawba Christian.

"It's an honor to get 300 wins, and it means I've had great players and assistant coaches with me for a long time,” said Schwartz. “Our kids have been awesome and I'm really proud of their character, their academic integrity, and how they have played and practiced every single day with strength and honor."

Since joining the WCDS faculty in 2000, Schwartz has held numerous roles, including his current leadership as head soccer coach, head golf coach and athletic director. His team honors include three state soccer championships, five golf team championships, as well as coaching many players to All-Conference, All-State and All-American honors.

He has received multiple coaching awards, including the Chuck Carter Athletic Cup in 2023 from the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association, presented to long-serving athletic directors who embody the association’s values.

In addition to wins, Schwartz’s contributions to WCDS include working with colleagues to promote the school’s pillars of moral, academic, artistic and athletic excellence. In partnership with the school’s Booster Club, Schwartz has helped build a culture of sportsmanship and a positive atmosphere at games and events for players and families. He also works with faculty colleagues to promote scholastic achievement. Consistently high numbers of WCDS student-athletes are named Academic All-Conference, and students with a range of experience and skill levels are encouraged to participate.
