WCDS Hosts Celebration of Life for Judy Tomlinson
The Westchester community was deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Judy Tomlinson, a beloved former faculty member, on Nov. 19, 2021.
As the school joins her family and friends in mourning yet celebrating her life, Westchester will host a Celebration of Life Service in her memory from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, in the Wilson Student Center on the campus at 2045 N. Old Greensboro Road, High Point. This is a floating event open to members of her family, friends, former colleagues and students, alumni and the entire Westchester community to share memories and celebrate her legacy.
Mrs. Tomlinson nurtured and cared for Westchester students as a Lower School assistant for 28 years and had recently retired in June 2021. In the spring, the school celebrated her extraordinary commitment with the Class of 2005 award and her retirement during the end-of-year ceremonies. (Watch her recognition from the Fifth Grade Step-Up here.)
Our prayers and expressions of sympathy go out to her children, grandchildren and all who knew and loved her. She was a special mentor, cheerleader and friend for so many of us, and we will miss her greatly.
- Mr. Cobb Atkinson, Head of School
