Westchester Senior Selected as National Merit Finalist
Westchester Country Day School senior Jackson Todd is a finalist in the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. He is one of approximately 15,000 students nationwide recognized for their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
More than 1.5 million juniors entered the scholarship program by taking the PSAT in 2019. Todd was among the semifinalists selected in September 2020, who represent less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors and include the highest-scoring entrants from each state.
Recipients will be announced later this spring in the competition for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $30 million. They are selected based on academic record, participation in school and community activities, leadership abilities, employment, honors and awards received, recommendation from their school and an essay.
Todd is the son of Mel and Jaree Todd of Greensboro.
The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. For more information, visit www.nationalmerit.org.
