Westchester Presents 'Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon'
The Middle School of Westchester Country Day School presents its virtual production of "The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon" this weekend. The show is available for viewing online Friday, March 19, through Sunday, March 21.
Directed by Ms. Emma Ruggery, the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm are turned on their heads and catapulted online in this fast-paced, rollicking ride. Two narrators and several actors attempt to combine all 209 stories, ranging from classics like "Snow White," "Cinderella," and "Hansel and Gretel" to more bizarre, obscure stories like "Faithful Johannes."
"This was the first time for these students to perform a show on a virtual 'stage,'" says Ruggery. "It took a couple of weeks to get comfortable, but the real magic happened when they started to add their costumes and put their own spin on their parts. It was a unique and funny experience, and I am so proud of these students for stepping up and putting on a show to remember!"
