Westchester's Annual Fund Takes a Team
On almost any given day, I can walk into a classroom here at Westchester and be amazed. I see our curious and creative students, and I am inspired by the faculty and their dedication to helping their students learn and grow. I see evidence of the close partnership we have with our Westchester parents and families.
I’ve watched Mrs. Denmark’s Middle School technology classes flying drones through obstacle courses. I’ve seen the fourth grade “Where I’m From” poems, videos they produced themselves using Seesaw, an online learning platform suitable for elementary-aged students that provides a digital portfolio of their student work. I’ve had conversations with Mrs. Bailess about the stoneware and earthenware clays her art students use for their ceramic projects from a supplier out of Asheville, teaching her students not only about creating art but also about using local, natural resources.
Teachers are able to enhance the curriculum with these tools for hands-on learning and more because of the generosity of Westchester families supporting the Annual Fund year after year. Our school is unique and different from what students get at other schools because of how invested parents are in enriching the student experience.
The exceptional education our students are getting takes a team to make it happen. Some can give a lot, and some can give a little, but our goal is for everyone to give something. We want to see 100 percent participation from families in the Annual Fund this year!
Several donors have already stepped forward to join this team effort. They are offering a challenge to encourage more families to join them in participating in this year’s Annual Fund:
Annual Fund Challenge | |
---|---|
75 families | An additional $5,000 from an anonymous donor |
125 families | An additional $10,000 from The Bill and Suzanne Lowe Family Foundation |
175 families | An additional $25,000 from another anonymous donor |
Your participation is a vote of confidence in our mission and the work our faculty do each day in the classroom to provide high-quality education for your child. Your participation helps us get these additional financial contributions from four generous donors and meet our Annual Fund goals.
It takes a team. Your family can join in making a gift to this year’s Annual Fund in one of the ways listed below.
