Trust Is the Character Word for September
The Lower School held its first Community Meeting of the school year on Friday, Aug. 26, to learn about the character word for the month of September, TRUST -- putting your confidence in someone you can depend on. The character word is emphasized with the animal pilot whale and the color steel gray.
Lower and Middle School Counselor Sabrina Winstead and Head of Lower School Blair Hawley teamed up to give students an example of what it means to show TRUST through visuals during the Community Meeting. Students continued to learn more during classroom guidance lessons throughout the week.
Parents can read the newsletter linked below or listen to the Core Essential Values podcast to learn more on how to support students in developing TRUST at home.
Lower School follows the Core Essential Values character education program, which helps teach students to treat others right, make smart decisions, and maximize their potential through a focus on a monthly character trait. This is a part of Westchester's mission to support students in pursuing moral excellence.
