Character Word for September
Westchester Country Day School's character word for September 2024 is COMPASSION -- caring enough to do something about someone else's needs. The character word is emphasized by the color rose and the animal mouse.
Students will be learning what it means to have COMPASSION during a community meeting and classroom guidance lessons throughout the month. Westchester follows the Core Essential Values character education program, which helps teach students to treat others right, make smart decisions, and maximize their potential through a focus on a monthly character trait. This is one of the ways WCDS emphasizes the pillar of moral excellence.
