Kealy Carter was inducted into the Westchester Athletic Hall of Fame in 2011. She was a standout scholar and tennis player at Westchester. Before graduating valedictorian, she was named Tennis MVP in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998, and Female Scholar Athlete of the Year in 1998 and 1999. She won the State Championship in #1 Doubles in 1995, was State Finalist in #1 Doubles in 1997 and 1998, and State Finalist in #1 Singles in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998. Her USTA Rankings were #4 in North Carolina (1997, 1998), #27 in the Southern Region (1998), #44 in the Southern Region (1997), #158 in the United States (1997), and #159 in the United States (1998). In 1998, she was the NC State Champion.

Carter was awarded a scholarship to American University, where she played NCAA Division 1 Tennis from 1999 to 2002. She was selected Inter-Collegiate Tennis Association All-Academic in 2001 and 2002 and won a Patriot League Team Championship in 2002 before graduating Summa Cum Laude.
